Dr Jonathan M Smith PhD BSc DIC ARCS PSE
Jonathan is a simulation engineer and mathematical modeller with over 30 years of experience, specializing in the finite element method, structural dynamics, model verification and validation, and simulation quality management. His practical experience has been gained mainly in the Consulting, Nuclear and Renewable Energy sectors.
Jonathan is the editor of
NAFEMS ESQMS, an
ISO 9001 quality standard
for Engineering Simulation, and author of
its companion book: ‘Engineering Simulation Quality Management
Guidelines’. He is a member of
NAFEMS Simulation Governance and Management Working Group and
is a certified Professional
Simulation Engineer (PSE).
Jonathan graduated from Imperial College
London, where he gained a BSc in Mathematics
with Mathematical Computation and a PhD in
Aeronautics for research on numerical error
estimation in structural dynamics analysis.
